Walking Alongside Recovery: Supporting Sober Living Homes

At Center of Hope, our commitment to sober living homes and recovery ministries is more than an outreach — it is part of our story. The impact of addiction has touched our family for generations, beginning with my grandfather, Elizabeth Price-Lafarge’s father, and continuing through my father and even my own struggles. Addiction carries a heavy weight, not only for the individual but for entire families. Yet in the middle of brokenness, God provides grace, healing, and the strength to choose a new life.

Recovery begins with action. By God’s mercy, we are invited to take steps away from destructive patterns and toward freedom in Christ. Each day is a new opportunity to choose life, restoration, and faith. Psalm 103 reminds us that God “removes our sins as far as the east is from the west.” That forgiveness can be hard to believe when weighed down by shame, but it is real — and the Holy Spirit gives us the courage to silence doubt and press forward.

At Center of Hope, we walk alongside men and women rebuilding their lives in faith. We provide tangible support to sober living homes by supplying items for new starts, sponsoring recovery-focused events, and even offering work opportunities for individuals in the process of rebuilding. Each of these acts of service is a reflection of the compassion God has grown in us through our own journey of recovery.

I am thankful for the revelation and freedom I have witnessed in my own life, because it has prepared me with compassion and understanding for others taking their first steps. Recovery is not easy, but it is possible — and through Christ, families can be restored, lives can be transformed, and hope can rise again.
